Kidney vetch flowers are the dried, golden yellow blooms of Anthyllis vulneraria, a wild pea family herb, offered here as pure loose flower heads with nothing else added. The cup is light and easygoing, a pale yellow infusion with a soft, faintly floral taste and low bitterness, so it works as a plain caffeine free herbal tea on its own or blended with herbs such as mint or chamomile. To brew, use one to two teaspoons of the flowers per cup, add water just off the boil at about 95 C, and steep for five to eight minutes before straining. Anthyllis vulneraria grows across European meadows and grassland, where its cheerful flower heads have traditionally been gathered for a mild herbal tea. The same bright dried flowers are equally at home in craft and decorative work, from confetti and potpourri to botanical arrangements and dried bouquets. Supplied as loose dried whole flowers in a resealable pack and available in two sizes. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct light and moisture.
